It is critical that the accounts payable function be constructed in such a manner that it will be difficult for a fraudster to penetrate it. This, unfortunately, is a lot harder than it sounds. With advances in technology, changes in regulatory requirements and a continued focus on keeping costs to a minimum, it is more difficult than ever to structure your payment function to keep risks to a minimum. What's more, the fortress you build today may not protect you tomorrow.

Join this session by expert speaker Mary Schaeffer where she will discuss the role of the manager in preventing fraud, classify the different types of payment fraud and Identify important segregation.

Session Highlights:

  • Identify potential segregation of duties issues

  • Implement best practices to thwart all types of payment fraud (ACH, check, p-card and expense reimbursement)

  • Create practices that thwart those looking to defraud your organization

  • Weed out practices that unintentionally facilitate fraud

  • Detect commonly overlooked internal control weaknesses
