    10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PT

This presentation will review the E/M changes to CPT manual 2019 that went into effect on January 1, 2019 with no grace period. Claims submitted to insurance carriers that do not apply these changes will be denied and would need to be corrected prior to acceptance and reimbursement by the insurance company, causing a delay in cash flow in the office.

This presentation will focus on those changes that involve the E/M CPT codes that have changed and documentation requirements that the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have applied in an effort to reduce time spent by providers for documentation. These changes could potentially be affecting anyone reporting E/M CPT codes to insurance carriers for reimbursement.

Join this session by expert speaker Lynn M. Anderanin, where she will explain new coding services that they may otherwise be missing out on and not getting reimbursed for services and/or procedures performed.

Session Highlights:

  • New Current Procedural Code(CPT) codes that have been added for 2019 in Evaluation and Management (E/M)

  • New HCPCS code for electronic communication between the provider and patient

  • Additions to interprofessional consultations for the requesting provider as well as the consultant

  • Reporting to remote physiological monitoring

  • Documentation changes that will ease the burden of documenting for history and examination

  • Changes that are being discussed to become effective in 2021.
